Embroidery

Each stitch is a story, each thread a bridge between past and present. This collection of Tatreez is a labor of love, created by my mother and me, woven with the same patience and devotion as the women before us. Palestinian embroidery is more than an art—it is a language, a legacy, a form of resistance. Recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, Tatreez carries the memory of generations, stitched into patterns that whisper of home, displacement, and resilience.

Our work is deeply inspired by the embroidery traditions of Ramallah and its surrounding villages, where geometric motifs and bold colors narrate histories of love, struggle, and survival. My grandmother, forced from her home in Al-Muzaira’a in 1948, rebuilt her life in Mazari’ al-Nubani, where her hands continued to craft beauty from loss. In every embroidered detail, we honor her journey and the enduring strength of Palestinian women, whose hands continue to weave their stories into fabric, ensuring they are never forgotten.
